Final Assignment

Of the course of the course of the semester i have slow transformed thought blogging. When i first started the class i was skeptical about the whole blogging concept in general. However after posting up stories and articles, the comments i got back from fellow readers was comforting. I at first i thought to my self “who want to read my shit”, then two months later, im posting my life away and looking for funny things to comments about. I really am happy that i got to understand blogging. As a Journalism major we often talk about blogging in a lot of of the classes. While being in this class i have grown to understand the type of affect that bloggers posses in the media. I am starting to understand why this form of media is growing and becoming more popular. For example i don’t think that this is a difference between an Op-Ed piece in a news paper and what people write about in their blogs. Another thing that i found interesting about the blog experience is that having your own blog gives everyone a chance to see where your coming from. That means that a writer for example doesn’t have to belong to a major newspaper to get their words across.

When giving feedback i tend to notice that I normally would be commenting on a website or article that is getting a lot of attention. For example anything i commented on on reddit had tons of other people who commented where as when i commented on The Source magazine website i would only have a few comments that would follow mine or even relate to my comment. I think when commenting, if you dont post something that is catchy or over the top, people aren’t likely to comment on your. I would have to admit that i liked commenting more the having people comment on me. But i was nice when people from the class who i never spoke to become communicated with me on my blog. In most stories i commented on i either posted something that raises a question, or post something that was funny. Only a couple times did i post a serious opinion. Ex Obama money post, and the Obama fried chicken. Thoughts post were two of my favorites where i really felt like I was going in deeper with my blog.

If could go back and do all my blogging again i would have gone back and posted MORE BLOGS. As much as I had fun commenting on other peoples work. I think if I put more time aside in writing more on my blog i may have got more comments. However i was picky when it came to things that i would blog about. I normally looked for interesting things that would some how affect me in my daily life. I am also a musician thats why i always posted things about music or technology. I couldn’t help myself, lol. Lastly i think am going to continue to my blog however i am going to make a new one for my DJ lifestyle. So keep a look out for that, And Scott I BLAME YOU FOR GETTING ME ADDICTED TO TWITTER LOL. I enjoyed your class, keep teaching it!

he feathers are still flying in the chicken wars, this time with Oprah’s help.

The talk-show host and KFC have teamed up on a offer for free grilled chicken. Today and tomorrow you can download a coupon from unthinKFC.comfor two pieces of grilled chicken, two sides and a biscuit. The coupon is redeemable at participating KFC restaurants until May 19 (excluding May 10, Mother’s Day). You might have trouble downloading the coupon because of heavy traffic at the site.

It’s a combination of Oprah’s famous giveaway schtick (of KFC’s KGC, she said today: “We scored a hookup for every person in America…”) and the promotional machine of the former Kentucky Fried Chicken as the chain hypes the introduction of its grilled chicken.

Last week, KFC and El Pollo Loco staged dueling chicken hand-outs for grilling aficionados. For vegetarians, nothing.

This has to be the craziest thing i have ever heard of. Black women gives away free chicken! Yes its about time, i have been waiting for the day Oprah would bless me with her money and it has come. I think this is the craziest think that people can go and get 2 pieces of chicken with two sides and biscuit for free. Wow, that sounds finger licking good to me, lol. But i am a little curious to see why she would do this. What does Oprah get out of this? Fame? money? any ideas?

It’s been years since Michael Jackson has performed live in concert, and the ‘King of Pop’ needs more inspiration than just looking at the man in the mirror.

According to The Sun, Jackson has forgotten a few dance steps and is ”watching all the old performance footage he can find” on YouTube.

Sounds like Michael’s rustier than a pair of Susan Boyle’s tweezers?

Hopefully Michael remembers the Moonwalk and forgets all the crotch grabbing – that was just creepy.

I dont know how true this is, but for some reason i am believing it. I really could see Michael jackson looking at old dance moves in order to get himself back into the spot life. I truly believe his career is over. I feel like he would try anything to get back into the spotlight even it requires holding a baby out the window. I the reason I posted this up was to get some feedback. Plus i thought the picture was funny. I would like to thank Reddit for this one!

Hacking a Bluetooth Cellphone

Walking around with Bluetooth enabled on your cell phones is just like presenting food to a hungry man.

Hackers can easily connect to your device using simple Bluetooth Transmitter and they are then able to manipulate your device without letting you know about it. Let me first define how it happens and then we’ll go to – how to protect your device from Bluetooth hacking attacks.
Bluetooth is a well-known and widely used short range wireless communication technology which uses 2.4GHz frequency range for transmission of data without any physical link. Most of the latest cell phones have the Bluetooth technology. People use it for attaching their cell phone with computers, enabling Bluetooth wireless hands-free and in-car connectivity without knowing that it is an open door to hackers.
While discussing about the past, cell phones and telecommunication companies were “closed network” but as technology grew, Cell phones become more than an ordinary cell phone to a mini-computer. And so, hackers have tended their concentration towards hacking of these mini-computers or so called Cell phones.

I guess it is possible to hack into anything. Just when you thought your phones were safe, nope. This goes to prove that people can hack all the way into your phone. I wonder if it is at all possible to have protection from this. But i do think that these types of crimes are going to become more popular over time. All it takes is for the the hacker to download a program then, after use a antenna to pick the signal. The hacker can tap into another persons phone, or computer. I guess i wont be pairing my electronics anymore.

New male contraceptive injection appears effective

An injection for men appears to be just as effective at preventing pregnancy as the birth control pill, finds new research that could revolutionize contraception.

In testing in China, only one man in 100 fathered a child while on the injections, the study in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism reports.

The contraceptive is a form of testosterone that is injected into the buttocks once a month. It works by temporarily blocking sperm production.

Chinese researchers injected 1,045 healthy Chinese men aged 20 to 45 years with a 500 mg of testosterone undecanoate in oil, once a month for 24 months. All of the study participants had had at least one child and all their female partners, aged 18 and 38 years, also had normal reproductive function.

They found the contraceptive was almost 99 per cent effective, with a failure rate of only 1.1 per 100 men.

Im curious in seeing if this drug will ever come to the states. I wonder what it would do to the birth rate especially in teenage pregnancy. Any thoughts? Also i feel as though the drug is working 99%, I still think it needs more time on the market to find out if there are any side affects. You might find out 20 years later after take the drug a male is not able to reproduce. Plus I wonder what the chances are of it selling here in america? Any thoughts? I do think this drug is a good i however, it still needs more testing.

PS: I dont think im a fan of getting a shot in the butt every month.

I found this post on reddit and I had to put it up, because currently and when I was a kid i use to watch game show continuous, waiting for the day to actually see someone win. Well in this clip not only did the guy win. He didnt even use a lifeline to get their. When he does attempt to use his lifeline, he does it in a way to pretty much show off and let Regis know the money is his. I think it was just perfect how they guy finishes the last question. I think i would have done the same thing, just for fact i think the shows are made so that their is actually a 1% chance of winner. Come on everyone remembers Legends of The Hidden Temple, The Price is Right, and The Wheel Of Fortune, lol.

by the way -Does anyone know how they get money to give away, on these shows?

Texas police shake down drivers, lawsuit claims

TENAHA, Texas (CNN) — Roderick Daniels was traveling through East Texas in October 2007 when, he says, he was the victim of a highway robbery.

he Tennessee man says he was ordered to pull his car over and surrender his jewelry and $8,500 in cash that he had with him to buy a new car.

But Daniels couldn’t go to the police to report the incident.

The men who stopped him were the police.

Daniels was stopped on U.S. Highway 59 outside Tenaha, near the Louisiana state line. Police said he was driving 37 mph in a 35 mph zone. They hauled him off to jail and threatened him with money-laundering charges — but offered to release him if he signed papers forfeiting his property.

“I actually thought this was a joke,” Daniels told CNN.

But he signed.

Texas Texas Texas…just when you you thought that state had enough embarrassing things going on with it. *Cough Cough, George Bush* This story goes to prove how dirty cops could be. When i was younger in high school, me and my friends at the time always talked about if cops could take the item you had on you and us it for their own good. Well i guess in this article this is quite true. Not only did the police the guy over for going 2 miles over the speed limit. They took all of stuff, and then forced him to sign it over…. I guess it is true, sometimes you cant trust cops. Not only will they give you a ticket.. They.will black-male and try to rob you. This article i found on reddit and I thought it would be fun to share with the class. Its amazing to see bad cops are in different state. Hopefully we are lucky enough in massachusetts to not have cops like that.

Dull was arrested—roughly, she says—and charged with producing and distributing child pornography. The charges were dropped 15 months later when a Pennsylvania special prosecutor overruled the local DA. Only Dull, her attorney, and police and prosecutors have apparently seen the photos, which are now under seal. She’s now suing.

In this follow-up article from the York Daily Record, state officials seem to be trying to reassure parents and grandparents that they have nothing to worry about—that you needn’t fret about having your life ruined and reputation destroyed by false child porn charges for taking nude pictures of your infant or toddler. Problem is, their reassurances aren’t very convincing.

This article I had to comment on. Wow this has to be by far, one of the worst thing i ever seen happen to a grandma. This poor little lady got destroyed with false porn charges. Come on lets be serious everyone one of us have naked pictures taken by our parents. Thats why i really feel like they went to far with this one. Grandma was only put up the pictures as a adorable moment not as a perverted picture. Thats also makes you wonder the mind state of the person who reported on grandma, crazy.

After viewing the video i was really shocked to see Beyonce playing with the Nintendo DS. I part of me feels like its a publicity stunt because I highly doubt that Beyonce has time at all to sit down and use both hands. Plus I don’t really understand what crowd Nintendo was trying to reach with putting Beyonce in the commercial. Any Ideas? Anyways when i first view the media clip i thought it was a joke, BUT ITS ACTUALLY REAL. I like beyonce has a artist but i don’t know how i feel about here and video games. I though the part with her nephew worked but rest of it seems like its gonna need some work to grab consumers.
